“FIRST SIGNS OF SPRING”
A Sunday in April 2018 – The days are longer now and spring is quickly incoming. The fields slowly turned into a fresh looking green and in the mountains was still a good amount of snow left over.
This day ride was a nice spring / winter mix along one of my favorite tarmac house routes. Please feel free to have a look at the attached pictures down below …
Vienna is a wonderful location for starting a day ride. In the near surrounding you can choose between hilly, flat and mountainous terrain. That all is reachable within a day ride.
This day Чернотa and I went from Vienna to Bad Vöslau, Markt Piesting, Puchberg am Schnneeberg, Priglitz, Preiner Gscheid, Niederalpl , Mariazell, Kernhof, Kalte Kuchl, Gutenstein, Markt Piesting, and Kottingbrunn back to Vienna. Total distance this day: about 310km or 190mi.
Late in the morning we left Vienna via a few short gravel parts until …
we reached the first hills of the eastern Alps. There, …
in the Village Pucberg am Schneeberg is the well known entrance station of the Schneebergbahn (a rack-railway) located.
Also the center of this village had a nice ambiance to offer. We went …
further on southwards and passed …
the castle Stixtenstein. The view in the hills …
reached far due to the good weather and the …
meadows got a fresh green color. Near the village Gasteil this ….
open field art gallery is located. Its called “Gut Gasteil” and each year new gallery object get shown in this large meadow.
Being not a real art fancier Чернотa and I just mad a short stop. We rode on to the …
village “Payerbach” where the first real signs …
of spring have been seen.
“Black – KTM – 690 – Attack – chopper!” brap, brap, brap, brap, brap
We went over the little pass road “Preiner Gscheid” and passed this …
interesting spot in an unknown village. In the rock behind that house is something written about Archduke Johann from Austria.
On top of the Niederalpl Pass road still was plenty of snow. The view to …
the west was great. Along some well known …
roads Чернотa brought us to this …
impressive little mansion.
In the mid-afternoon we left the hilly and …
curvy terrain and had a short stop …
at the Water-Castle-Kottingbrunn. After that we …
rode along some little unknown side-streets …
back in direction of the city Vienna. Due to the fact …
that this day was a Sunday, I took the chance and followed a resting railway construction site in direction to the city. The last part was impassable but it was worth a try. ^_^
After 310km or 190mi we reached Vienna.
